it rained today

it's raining
i hear th nder
         u
i see li
        gh
          tn
            in
              g
                crackle
i don't hate the rain today
isn't that something?
a window instead i open
and sit by it
intoxicated
by the smell of wet earth
i can see rain drops
in puddles
hazy streetlights
reflected
on drenched roads
then
suddenly
i miss
you
    (isn't that something else?)
and i wish
we could sit
by this window
drinking cups of warmth
our hearts(nestled)
our hands touching
letting the sky's
light electric
illuminate our faces
our bodies
in moist glimpses
our souls
feeling
wanting
needing
loving

i hate the rain
you know this
but tonight
i miss
you

in the lightning's flashes

as once i used to
when we
were we
you
me

    1. Thank you! I’m glad that came across as such.
I’m slowly starting to understand you thunderstorm-loving folks now as I start to appreciate the atmosphere these storms create (while I’m safely indoors). :)
