Points to Ponder ~ Look!

The year’s at the spring,
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven;
The hill-side’s dew-pearled;
The lark’s on the wing;
The snail’s on the thorn;
God’s in his Heaven—
All’s right with the world!
From ‘Pippa Passes’ by Robert Browning

    “The lark’s on the wing;”
    That is how I felt today — flying a plane for the first time in life – with an instructor.
    1000 feet up in the air, the instructor folded his hands behind his head and said that ‘ I taught you on the ground how to handle a plane. I am taking a break while you fly’. That was it!! I was flying the plane for the next longest 15 minutes of my life. Turning it left, taking it up or down, heading to the lake per direction from the instructor, then heading to the airfield. It was an amazing feeling. Like a lark in the sky, I was thinking that I too am a bird!!!
    I was really scared and felt like telling the instructor to take over the controls. I did not.
    There was something in me that I had to prove to myself that I can overcome my fears in life and I flew the plane for the next 15 minutes. It was the most amazing experience, so different from Sky Diving, as this was in slow motion compared to Sky Diving..
    In perceptive I enjoyed each and every moment of it.
    I called up my parents in India to tell them and since my father is a licensed pilot, he could understand my fears, and they only gave me words of encouragement.

    Bitten by the Air Bug, I am going up again in the plane leading to me getting “Wings” aka flying license..

    I love overcoming my fears and will continue to do so.

    Try it! It is therapeutic.
    Its a Bird!! Its Superman!!!! No it is Sid Flying a Plane!!!

      It’s wonderful how a simple adventure of sky-diving can bring out the pilot in you! It’s really great that you are discovering the little things you enjoy that can make life whole. Like they say, leave no stone unturned! :) Good luck with the flying lessons and I hope you buy a plane soon too!
