I Love You But.

This is from a ‘Points to Ponder’ bit in an issue of Reader’s Digest  that I read a very, very long time back. I’ve looked (read ‘hunted’) for the original one, but haven’t been able to find it..However, it was something like this…
The four cruelest words you can say to someone are: I love you but. Like, “I love you, but I need a divorce.” or “I love you, but you’re not the one.” Remember when your mom said that if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all? “I love you but” falls into that category.
