a girl danced (a triolet)

[Poem #22 with #23’s prompt. Since I usually write most of my poems in iambic tetrameter, I didn’t think I should pass up today’s NaPoWriMo prompt to write a triolet.]

I saw one night a curious sight:
A girl danced with blue midnight’s stars;
Familiar-brown, her hair, dress white,
I saw one night a curious sight.
She danced until grey dawn grew light
In twinkling fields, in dreamt up bars,
I saw one night a curious sight,
A girl danced with blue midnight’s stars.
